The Minolta X-370 is a 35mm manual focus SLR using the SR lens mount (often wrongly referred to as MD mount, which is actually a lens series and stands for “Minimum Diaphram”) which was used on all minolta manual focus bodies begining in 1958. The X-370 (also known as X-300 is based on the earlier X-570 but had features removed by Minolta to reduce the price point.

The X-300, in its many forms, became the basis of Minolta’s manual-focus SLR cameras after the introduction of the auto-focus Maxxum line. The various X-370’s were less expensive than the new, auto-focus cameras, but still had all the features that a new or experienced photographer needed.

The Minolta X-370 35mm Camera Body is built rugged without sacrificing features. Featuring quartz controlled circuitry, this Minolta SLR camera offers consistent and precise exposure control. The viewfinder on the 35 mm camera displays exposure information and operating status to prevent errors when filming. Available Minolta flashes provide multi-mode auto-flash for additional control.

Film photography is a way of feeling, of touching, of loving. What you have caught on film is captured forever . . . it remembers little things, long after you have forgotten everything. 35mm film SLR camera is more than a medium for factual communication of ideas. It is a creative art.

The X-370 has two exposure modes. Aperture priority, which is labeled 'Auto', and metered manual. The single control wheel, located just in front of the shutter release button, allows the user to spin out of aperture priority mode and into the manual shutter speeds. This wheel goes all the way around so that the user can continue to spin the wheel back to aperture priority from either end of the shutter speed range. The 'Auto' setting and the shutter speeds are visible (when properly lit) in the viewfinder so you never needed to look away from the viewfinder while changing back and forth from Auto to manual.
